Park City Education Foundation
PCEF is a non-profit organization that funds "educator-powered initiatives that inspire all Park City students to successfully reach their academic and lifelong potential." PCEF provides $1.5 million dollars in funding each year, distributed via its 8 Signature Initiatives:
Preschool: Raise the odds for success. Lower the cost of preschool.
Elementary Visual Arts (EVA): Keep art in the picture.
Afterschool: Quality afterschool programs (K-9th) that work for working parents.
Educator and Student Wellness: Wellness is an essential subject.
Real World Learning: Putting STEAM to work.
Bright Futures: A college degree for first-generation students.
Classroom and Express Grants: Power a teacher. Launch a student.
Innovation Lab: Education ideas for the future from those who know best → educator voice in education.
Within these eight initiatives are more than a hundred programs, which have an impact on every single one of the 4,600 PCSD students.
Why does PCEF exist?
The impacts of the pandemic mean there are additional needs for our teachers and students.
Plus - Utah ranks dead last in the country in both state and federal per-pupil funding.
AND - 96% of Park City's state-collected education tax dollars go to other school districts.
Our schools don’t have the money they need for programs our families have come to depend upon. Thanks to donors, the Park City Education Foundation funds programs to ensure Park City students thrive, regardless of present challenges.
MPES students, educators, and families benefit greatly from PCEF's initiatives and programs.
Its support funds all or part of programs like:
Camp Moose (MPES' Afterschool program)
Before School Program
Calming Room
Classroom Grants (full list for 2022/23 below!)
DLI Support
Fundations Reading Program
PACE Materials
Special Ed Support
STEM Support
And so many more!
